Remove one grab rail (along with the direction signal and wiring). Push direction signal wiring through hole in mounting bracket. Put mounting bracket in the grab rail or hold up to the fender and put the grab rail over it, and install a new (longer) chrome bolt to hold it for now. As far as getting it running, the usual carb clean and fluids change would be the first step. Check the airbox for rodent nests and it will definitely need a new battery. Also make sure the tires aren't falling apart.

Sep 26, 2023 · It's the new 2024 one and I've had a few problems. 1. The handlebars slightly wobbly at deceleration from 50-40mph. (It went 80% away after tighten head tube bearing) 2. The wires going to speedo rubbed on gas tank and one wire was exposed (I wrapped with black tape and plastic wire housing) 3. Overall the bike feels to have a lot of vibration. The Shadow 750 ACE was 540lbs wet. The best mpg I have found for the 1100 is 35mpg, while I regularly see 40+mpg, sometimes over 50mpg with the 750.
